With the right care, a quality bedroom paint brush can last for years. To choose a keeper, look for filaments that are sturdy yet flexible and a wooden handle that feels comfortable in your hand. A good all-purpose brush is 2 or 2 ½ inches wide. Follow these tips for keeping your brush in top shape before you start bedroom painting.

1. Limit your dip. Dip the bristles into less than 1 inch of paint. Cleanup will be easier, and you’ll have better control when you paint bedroom.

2. Clean immediately. Don’t soak your brush. Wash away latex paint under warm, running water. For oil-base paints, swish the brush in a cup of paint thinner.
