Small Bedroom Design - 3 Basics

Do you have a small bedroom? You’re not alone. If you do wrong things in your small bedroom design, choosing bedroom furniture, undoubtedly you’ll suffer more. Because the small bedroom will be more terrible—narrow space and wrong furniture are telling you “This bedroom’s going to squeeze you”. If that’s the case, it will be so contradictory. Bedroom’s role is to serve and calm you down in the rest. But relax, you just have to know the way to do it right. The key is to design it correctly.

1. Choose light colors. Why? By painting your small bedroom wall with light colors such as white or light brown or grey, you’ll feel you bedroom much wider and open. This will eliminate tight impression of the bedroom. Otherwise, dark colors such as black or dark red will give a narrow feeling and close. It’s also good to arrange your headboard facing to this light bedroom walls so that you will always direct your look to them whenever you enter the small bedroom and feel open.

2. Right furniture in right place. It’ll probably fell a lot wider to fill your small bedroom with solely the bed. But you often need more than just the bed in your small bedroom. I think you can still place some furniture in addition to the bed in your small bedroom such dresser and nightstand, but you have to consider right size of them. More than that will just mess up the look of the small bedroom. For example, you can have chest or dresser but not both of them. In case you require more storage space, you might use vertical shelves along the bedroom wall. Placing big mirror on the bedroom wall or the dresser will make spacious feeling too.

3. Good bedroom lighting will be the ultimate. It’s good to benefit natural light in your small bedroom by adding windows with translucent curtains rather than thick drapes. But if you just have a few amounts of natural light, then the next choice is to use the lamps. Choose the lamps with sufficient brightness. Small lamp can be used on the bedside table. You can also place lamps on the floor that throws light to the ceiling.

There will always be a way to make the small bedroom feel larger and more stunning. Always try to find what suits you best. It’ll all begin with correct bedroom design.
