Bedroom Paint Brush and Priming

With the right care, a quality bedroom paint brush can last for years. To choose a keeper, look for filaments that are sturdy yet flexible and a wooden handle that feels comfortable in your hand. A good all-purpose brush is 2 or 2 ½ inches wide. Follow these tips for keeping your brush in top shape before you start bedroom painting.

1. Limit your dip. Dip the bristles into less than 1 inch of paint. Cleanup will be easier, and you’ll have better control when you paint bedroom.

2. Clean immediately. Don’t soak your brush. Wash away latex paint under warm, running water. For oil-base paints, swish the brush in a cup of paint thinner.

3. Comb and dry. Drag a paintbrush comb (less than $10 at paint and hardware stores) through the bristles to remove any remaining paint. Hang the brush to dry using the hole in the handle.

4. Go undercover. The cardboard cover your paintbrush came in is the best choice for keeping its shape while stored.

Do I really need to prime my bedroom walls and woodwork before painting? The answer depends on the surface you’re painting. Primer provides a good bond between the surface and the first coat of paint. In addition, special stain-blocking primers keep knots, dark colors, paneling, and permanent stains from bleeding through.

You should always prime bare wood, new bedroom drywall, and surfaces coated with oil-base paint that you’ll be repainting with latex. Skip priming when applying a fresh coat of the same type paint, as long as you lightly sand glossy surfaces with fine sandpaper.

If you’re not sure what type of paint was used before, dampen a rag with denatured alcohol, and rub it on an inconspicuous spot. Latex paint will soften and come off on the rag; oil-base paint will not.
But what color should I paint my bedroom? I hope you can find best color here.
